Thursday 9th July

** Please can school reading books and library books be returned to school so they can be cleaned ready for September **

Hello Seahorses. Happy Thursday.

Please complete todays year 1 phonic lesson on the Letters and Sounds Website.

Today we are going to be writing instructions for making a jam sandwich. You can then have a go at making the sandwich yourself following the instructions and eat it for lunch! It doesn’t have to be a jam sandwich. You could choose your favourite filling to put in instead.

Watch the PowerPoint saved at the bottom of this page to remind yourself about writing instructions.

Your instructions can be very simple. E.g. First get two pieces of bread. Make sure you make them clear and remember your capital letters, full stops and finger spaces. Use the words first, then, next, after that and finally to help you.

Mental Maths:

What numbers are missing from the sequence? How do you know?

Lesson 4: Finding a quarter (2)

Watch the video on the website and then complete the activities. The questions and answers are saved at the bottom of this page. If you can't print out the sheet draw the things you need into your home learning book.

This afternoon we are going to look at recycling. Recycling is important both at home and in school. So many things that we use can now be recycled.

Watch the PowerPoint on Recycling. It is saved at the bottom of this page.

Draw a recycling container for cans, paper and card, glass, plastic, compost, clothes, removable items and garden waste. You can print the pictures out that are saved below or draw or write them into a table.

Have a go at sorting the following items into how they can be recycled.
