Work Experience

Work experience provides a number of benefits for children and young people. It enables students to learn about the world of work in a real-life working environment. With this in mind, Maybury Primary School is supportive of students from other schools and colleges wishing to undertake their work experience here.

Availability for placements is dealt with on a 'first come, first served' basis, and we endeavour to offer as many placements as we can.

Safeguarding is a very important part of our school, and it is imperative that we ensure our systems and procedures for accepting work experience students into school are effective.  Therefore, there is a clear 3-step procedure, shown below, for anyone wishing to help in our school.

If you need help or support with any of the steps, please do let us know.

1.  Submit an enquiry, please follow this link to complete the form.

2.  If there is availability, a request for a letter will be made to the college/school for all work experience placements confirming suitability.  For those students 16 years and older, a work experience bridging letter will also be sent to the school/college for completion.  Please note all students over the age of 16 must have a current enhanced DBS with Children’s Barred List check in place. Please see policy for further guidance.  On completion and once all safeguarding obligations are met an offer of work experience will be confirmed.

3. Attend an induction meeting with a member of the Senior Leadship Team.

Please note that applications to complete a work experience placement at our school for the 2026/27 academic year will close at the end of the Spring term on Friday 26th March 2027.
Applications for the 2027/28 academic year will open on 1st September 2027.
