'Family Learning' describes a whole range of activities and programmes that involve parents, children and the wider family in learning, often involving children and adults in learning together. Family programmes encourage adults to learn for their own personal development and for the benefit of their children.
These include activities like but not limited to family ICT, family literacy and numeracy, family sports, family cookery and skills for parents.

Reading Is Fundamental, UK (RIF) promotes a love of reading among children and young people (aged 0-19) in areas of disadvantage and gives them the chance to choose free books to keep for themselves. RIF is an initiative of the National Literacy Trust. The website offers parents advice and help on reading
